Beginning on April 1,2003, a special permit authorizing the performance of Microdermabrasion shall be issued to any person who meets the following requirements:
- A currently licensed esthetician in the state of Louisiana; or
- Any licensed cosmetologist or electrologist who presents satisfactory evidence of completion of at least 200 hours of study in esthetics.
** In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must present satisfactory evidence of completion of a training course on the operation of the esthetics grade microdermabration equipment to be used.
This permit is required, No cosmetologist or esthetician may perform microdermabrasion without a current special permit authorizing the performance of microdermabrasion.
