Reciprocity Application-Florida

Persons wishing to
transfer into the state of Louisiana from Florida must fill out
and return this application to the Louisiana
State Board office.
A cosmetologist license is the only license that is transferable to Louisiana as
a reciprocity transfer. Nail specialist, facial specialist and full specialist are
considered specialty registration or permit and are not transferable to Louisiana
as a reciprocity transfer. Florida will certify the hours earned for these specialty
registrations or permits are transferable to Louisiana at the following rates:

500 hours |
The applicants for specialty registration transfers must be evaluated at a cosmetology
school licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology, complete the required
number of hours in Louisiana and take the complete set of examinations.
